Ayers Valley Farm is a regenerative farm founded by Josh and Taylor in 2017, offering pasture-raised beef, chicken, and pork directly to consumers. What began as a local operation grew into a large ecommerce business with a substantial recurring customer base.
As the farm continued to scale, its existing ecommerce platform had become a constraint— limiting merchandising opportunities, creating friction around payments, and making it harder for the business to optimize subscriptions, conversion, and average order value.
Subscriptions were a central part of the project. Rather than simply recreating the farm’s existing program, we used the migration as an opportunity to rethink its structure around Recharge. Build-your-own bundles were designed to become flagship subscription products, giving customers more flexibility over what they receive while creating opportunities for Ayers Valley Farm to increase order value and retention. The new model also introduces more strategic incentives for first-time and prepaid purchases while preserving subscriber perks.
Behind the customer experience, the project required a significant ecommerce migration and technical rebuild. Products, customer data, and existing subscriber payments were transitioned from GrazeCart into a Shopify ecosystem integrating subscriptions, fulfillment, ERP, email marketing, and analytics. Performance, technical SEO, accessibility, and responsive behavior were considered throughout the build to ensure the new site could support both the farm’s current scale and its continued growth.
The result is an ecommerce foundation built for the next stage of Ayers Valley Farm: easier to shop, more flexible for subscribers, and better equipped to drive conversion and average order value. Just as importantly, the new Shopify ecosystem gives the team greater control over how they merchandise, market, and evolve the business without being constrained by the limitations of their previous platform.
